the Cure POrch on Wheels
goes to Donnelly's
August 8, 2019
The Cure Porch on Wheels went to Donnelly's Ice Cream on Monday! From 11:00 - 4:00 visitors were invited to explore the Porch, learn about local history, and share their favorite Donnelly's story on the Story Phone. Click the button above to listen to the stories shared on the Story Phone!
Donnelly's Ice Cream opened in 1953, with the same ice cream machine that makes the twin-tone cones they sell today. The ice cream stand was only a small part of Crystal Springs Dairy, owned by the Donnelly's. Crystal Springs pasteurized and bottled the milk they sold door-to-door for years. The current ice cream stand was originally built as a warming hut for a ski hill that operated on the far side of the farm.
